The Everyday Line of backpacks and bags is Peak Design's most iconic and popular product line. We launched our first (v1) Everyday Bags in 2015-16. In late 2019, we launched the Everyday Line v2.
This article will show you the difference between v1 and v2 Everyday Bags. We'll refer to the product lines as "EDL1" and "EDL2" for short.
Follow along with PD Marketing Director Adam Saraceno in the video below, where he walks you through picking the right v2 bag for your needs:
Overall differences
Compared to EDL1, EDL2 boasts new designs, new colorways, and a range of functional and aesthetic improvements based on customer feedback and years of honing our design expertise. Key upgrades include:
- New designs: The overhauled Everyday Tote, radical new Everyday Totepack, cleanly-styled Everyday Backpack Zip, and 3L Everyday Sling make their debut.
- New colorways: Beautiful new Midnight Navy and Bone colorways suit a wider range of styles and preferences.
- UltraZips: new exterior UltraZips are built to withstand decades of use. Vastly superior abrasion resistance (vs. conventional zips) is made possible by ultra-high-molecular-weight thermoplastic thread, which binds the zipper coil to the cloth tape.
- Modern looks: Across-the-board aesthetic improvements via cleaner seams and more rounded profiles.
- More sustainable fabrics: new shell and liner fabric is 100% recycled and Bluesign approved (all fabric colors except Black). Charcoal colored bags are solution-dyed, saving water and energy.
- Updated MagLatch: Updated MagLatch and catchpoints are sleeker and more ergonomic.
- Cord Hook external carry straps: New external carry strap connectors are lower profile, easier to use, and have more tie-down points.
How to identify EDL1 vs. EDL2
The easiest way to differentiate EDL1 bags from EDL2 bags is to lift up (or look into) the main opening. Inside the bag, you'll see a prominent screenprint indicating the model/size of bag you have. If you see the following design in that screenprint, you have a EDL2 bag:
If your bag does not have this design printed inside, you have an EDL1 bag.
